Bhubaneswar: The well-marked low pressure area over Gangetic West Bengal and adjoining areas of north coastal Odisha and northwest Bay of Bengal continues to persist, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
As per the latest update issued by the IMD at 08: 30 am today, the system now lies over Gangetic West Bengal and adjoining areas of north coastal Odisha, Jharkhand and northwest Bay of Bengal. The associated cyclonic circulation extends up to 7.6 km above mean sea level, tilting southwestward with height.
The system is likely to move west-northwestwards across north Odisha and Jharkhand during the next 48 hours, the IMD said.
