Bhubaneswar: A tourist from West Bengal was rescued while being swept away in the sea in Puri, on Wednesday.
The tourist identified as Priyabrata Das was dragged into the deep sea due to strong currents while bathing in the beach in front of Hotel Bangalaxmi. Fortunately, lifeguards deployed at the beach spotted him struggling and sprang into action, pulling him to safety.
After the rescue, Das was rushed to the District Headquarters Hospital for first aid, where his condition is reported to be stable. The incident occurred despite warnings from lifeguards to exercise caution while bathing in the turbulent sea, which had swelled dangerously due to heavy rainfall.
Despite warnings from lifeguards about the turbulent sea conditions, Priyabrata ventured into the water, seemingly unaware of the potential dangers.
