Bhadrak: In a world where physical appearance often takes centre stage, this couple’s love story reminds us that true love is eternal and connects with the soul. It has nothing to do with physical appearance. It’s about two souls coming together and accepting each other for who they are.
Setting an example for others, Jagannath Jena, a 100% differently-abled person with no hands and legs, and Namita Mahakud, who is 80% differently-abled due to a burn accident, have tied the knot in a beautiful ceremony.
According to reports, born without hands and legs, Jagannath’s life has not been easy. His brother and sister-in-law take care of him. As a 100% differently-abled person, Jagannath, a resident of Kodabaruan village, struggles to earn a living and relies on his brother for support.
Four years ago, Jagannath’s life took an unexpected turn when he met Namita from Sahaspur village in Bhadrak district’s Tihidi block on instangram. Namita had suffered severe burns in a mishap, leaving her with physical challenges. Despite their individual struggles, the two found solace in each other’s company, and their bond grew stronger over time.
Their families, though initially hesitant due to financial constraints, eventually gave their consent for the marriage. With the help of some well-wishers and the sarpanch of Kodabaruan village in Bhadrak district, the couple’s wedding was made possible. The ceremony was performed according to Vedic rituals, and the couple exchanged vows in the presence of their families and friends recently, said sources.
The couple’s union has sent out a powerful message, inspiring many to look beyond physical limitations and focus on the beauty of the human spirit.
