Bhubaneswar: In a gruesome incident, a man was allegedly stabbed to death by his wife and minor son over a family dispute at Bhadratiya village under Bhadrak Rural police limits in Odisha on Thursday morning.
While the deceased was identified as Suresh Mohla, the accused are his wife Sanjulata and son. The police have detained both accused and are interrogating them at Bhadrak Rural police station.
According to reports, Suresh worked in Bengaluru, while his wife worked in Delhi. A few days back the couple had returned to their village to spend their holiday. However, the relationship between him and his wife Sanjulata was not pleasant as they quarrelled often. The couple even fought on Wednesday night. After some time, Suresh rushed out of his house withering in pain, and dropped unconscious on the road. His body bore a number of injury marks and he breathed his last shortly after, local villagers said.
Villagers took Suresh to a nearby medical center where the doctors declared him brought dead.
Soon after, the villagers nabbed Sanhulata and her minor son, tied them to a tree, and beat them severely. On being informed, police arrived in the village and sent Suresh’s body for post-mortem. The police also launched an investigation to ascertain the circumstances that led to Suresh’s death.
Police seized a knife from the house which they suspected to be the weapon of offence.
