Bhadrak: Allegations of police brutality have surfaced after a woman claimed that her husband was subjected to third-degree torture inside the Bhadrak Town police station. In an apparent attempt to cover up their actions, police allegedly rushed her husband from the hospital, where he was receiving treatment, and hastily produced him in court.

According to the complaint, Jeevan Jena and his wife Rubina Nayak had a heated argument near the Motel Chhak. Jeevan, who was allegedly drunk, got into a fight with his wife. At that time, a lady constable present at that place intervened and tried to resolve the dispute. However, Jeevan allegedly misbehaved with the lady constable and attempted to attack her with a brick. In response, the lady constable called the PCR and took Jeevan to the police station where he was beaten black and blue.

She further complained that Jeevan was subjected to third-degree torture, resulting in severe injuries. She alleged that police tried to cover up the incident by rushing Jeevan to the hospital and later producing him in court. The woman has filed a complaint, accusing the police of brutality and demanding action.

The police, however, claimed that Jeevan was drunk and had misbehaved with the lady constable, as well as other police personnel at the station. They denied any wrongdoing, stating that Jeevan’s injuries were a result of his own actions.
