Bhubaneswar: A woman has allegedly been beaten to death over a land dispute at Ghantaghara village under Ghatagaon police limits in Keonjhar district on Friday night.

The deceased has been identified as Kuntala Nayak, a resident of Ghantaghara village. The gruesome attack has also left her husband critically injured.

According to sources, locals found her body lying in a pool of blood in front of her house on Saturday and informed police. The deceased was engaged in a land dispute with a fellow villager Rabindra for a long time. So, Rabindra and his son Mangulu hatched a plot to eliminate Kuntala.

Police, meanwhile, detained Rabindra and his son on charges of killing Kuntala and interrogated the father-son duo.

Another acquaintance of Rabindra is still absconding.

Police, also, seized the body and sent the body for post-mortem. A scientific team has been pressed into service.
