Bhubaneswar: A woman was left critically injured after she was allegedly attacked by a food delivery boy with a sharp weapon in the city on Thursday.
The victim has been identified as Binodini Rath, a resident of Shampur area of the capital city.
According to reports, an argument broke out between Rath and the delivery boy over a delay in the food delivery service. The altercation escalated, and the delivery boy allegedly assaulted her with a sharp-edged weapon.
Rath sustained serious injuries on her head, neck, hand, and leg, and was immediately rushed to a private hospital for treatment. Her condition is reported to be critical.
Upon receiving information, local police reached the spot and detained the accused delivery boy for questioning.
An investigation is currently underway to determine the exact sequence of events and the motive behind the attack.
