Bhadrak: A woman, reportedly a relative of woman constable Subhamitra Sahu, died in a tragic train accident while her husband sustained serious injuries near Patia station in Bhubaneswar.
The incident took place when the couple, Prafulla Patnaik and Annapurna Patnaik, were crossing the railway track and were hit by a speeding train near Patia station in Bhubaneswar.
According to reports, the couple was returning from Puri after conducting the last rites of Prafulla’s relative, woman constable Subhamitra Sahu. Annapurna tragically died on the spot, while Prafulla was seriously injured and admitted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.
Meanwhile, Subhamitra Sahu’s autopsy samples were sent to the Bhubaneswar Forensic Lab for a detailed report, as the Keonjhar District Headquarters Hospital lacked the facilities to provide an accurate report on decomposed bodies. The autopsy was conducted in the presence of Subhamitra’s three brothers.
