Kandhamal: The body of a woman Sub-Inspector was recovered from her official quarters at G.Udaygiri in Kandhamal district on Saturday.
The deceased has been identified as Swagatika Behera. She was found hanging from the ceiling with a scarf around her neck.
Swagatika is a native of Nirakarpur in Khurda district. She was posted at G.Udaygiri Police Station, nearly one and a half years back. She was reportedly staying alone in the official quarters.
On getting information, G.Udaygiri IIC and senior police officials rushed to the spot. Her body was sent to G.Udaygiri Community Health Centre for post-mortem. The exact reason behind her death is yet to be ascertained.
