Bhubaneswar: A woman died while her husband sustained severe injuries when the bike they were travelling in collided with a truck on the Khordha-Balangir National Highway (NH-57) near Marding in Boudh district.
The deceased has been identified as Aparajita Rout, wife of Birupaksha Sahu, a resident of Brahmanpad village under Chakapada block in Kandhamal district. The couple met with the mishap when they were returning from Brahmanpad to Puruna Katak.
Aparajita sustained severe injuries and was rushed to Puruna Katak Hospital, where she was declared dead on arrival. Her husband, Birupaksha, was also seriously injured and is currently undergoing treatment at the hospital.
Puruna Katak police are investigating the matter.
