Woman Dies, Son Injured In Road Mishap

Boudh: A woman died while her son sustained severe injuries after a truck hit the bike they were travelling in near Kiakata bridge in Angul district on Saturday.

The deceased has been identified as Gurubari Pradhan, a resident of Kadapada village under  Kiakata police limits in Angul district. Gurubari’s son Sujit sustained severe injuries in the accident and was rushed to Burla in critical condition after undergoing primary treatment at a local hospital.

According to sources, Gurubari was unwell for the past few days. Sujit was taking his mother to hospital when the accident took place.

Though both mother-son duo were rushed to Boudh Hospital, Gurubari was declared dead on arrival. Sujit, however, is battling with life.

Earlier on the day, as many as four persons died and 18 persons sustained injuries in three separate road mishaps at Hinjili, Jajpur and Boudh.
