Angul: In a tragic incident, a woman drowned while bathing in a canal near her village in Bubhap under Baurapal police limits in Odisha’s Angul district on Wednesday morning.
According to reports, Poornima Samal (22), wife of Ashok Samal, had gone to bathe in a canal near her village along with some other women. Her leg slipped while bathing and Poornima was swept away by the current in the canal.
Alarmed over the incident, villagers informed the Fire Services personnel about the incident. Although Fire Services personnel have launched a search for the missing woman, her whereabouts are yet to be traced.
