Bhubaneswar: In a tragic incident, a woman was fatally crushed under the wheels of a ‘Mo Bus’ at the Netaji Bus Terminal in Cuttack this evening.

The deceased has been identified as Saraswati Gochayat, a resident of the CDA area in Cuttack.

According to her husband, Laxman Gochayat, he and his wife had boarded the bus from CDA earlier in the evening to visit a relative in Gopalpur. Upon arriving at the Netaji Bus Terminal, the couple began to alight from the bus when it suddenly started moving.

Laxman recounted that his wife lost her footing and fell, and despite people nearby raising an alarm, the bus ran over her within moments.

Saraswati was immediately rushed to SCB Medical College & Hospital, but doctors pronounced her dead on arrival.

Laxman has alleged that the driver was intoxicated and is directly responsible for the incident. He has called for justice for his deceased wife, urging authorities to take swift action against the driver.
