Jeypore: A 40-year-old woman was brutally murdered by her own nephew in Minaguda village under Borigumma police station. The incident has sent shockwaves in the area.
According to reports, the deceased Rukmani Penthia’s husband, Kishwar Penthia, is mentally unstable, and the accused nephew allegedly took advantage of this situation to drag her away with malicious intentions. When Rukmani resisted, accused Dambhu Penthia brutally killed her with a knife.
Rukmani was admitted to Jaipur District Medical College and later shifted to Koraput Medical College, where she succumbed to her injuries. Following her husband’s complaint, the Borigumma police station registered a case and launched an investigation with the help of a scientific team.
Meanwhile, the accused nephew, Dambhu Penthia, surrendered at the Penthia police station. Rukmani’s sister and brother-in-law have demanded the death penalty for the accused, seeking justice for the heinous crime.
The police are continuing their investigation to find out the motive behind the gruesome murder.
