Puri: In a shocking incident, a woman allegedly killed her one-and-a-half-year-old daughter in Sadangoi village under Delang police station limits on Friday. The child’s body was recovered from a village pond by locals, who alerted the police immediately.
According to reports, the parents, Subash Baral and his wife, had a heated domestic dispute the previous day, which is believed to have triggered the tragic incident. Family members stated that the accused woman was under mental stress due to ongoing disputes within the family.
Her mother also alleged that she was being constantly harassed by her in-laws.
Subash Baral, the child’s father, denied any wrongdoing and accused his wife of killing their daughter.
On receiving the information, Delang police, along with Pipili SDPO, rushed to the spot and began an investigation.
The accused woman is currently absconding and police are searching for her.
