Bhubaneswar: A tragic accident occurred when a pickup vehicle belonging to the electricity department hit a woman and her six-year-old son while they were crossing the road near Bari to Baruhana.
The victims, Pakan Das and her son Sai Das, from Kujhala village in Jajpur district, were rushed to the Jajpur district headquarters hospital in critical condition.
The doctor declared the child dead first, followed by the mother’s death. The Sadar police station promptly responded to the incident, seizing the vehicle and detaining the driver for further investigation. The police launched an investigation after registering a case.
