Balasore: The body of a woman, stuffed inside a gunny bag was recovered from near Raj Ghat of Subarnarekha river in Basta on Saturday morning.
While the identity of the woman is yet to be ascertained, prima facie it appeared to be a case of murder. Basta police were assisted by the local Fire Service personnel to retrieve the body.
A group of locals who had come to see the Baruni Mela at Raj Ghat informed the police after spotting the body. A case has been registered and the body of the deceased was sent for autopsy to the District Headquarters Hospital.
