Bhubaneswar: A woman under-trial prisoner died in Jharpada Special Jail in Bhubaneswar during treatment in the prison.
Sukanti Bhoi, her husband, son and daughter were arrested and lodged in Jharpada jail in connection with daughter-in-law murder case. While her husband has been granted bail, Sukanti and others are still behind bars.
Sukanti Bhoi, suffering from chronic ailments, was frequently admitted to the health center.
On Monday night, she was admitted to the health center on the jail premises. Later, she was shifted to Capital Hospital after her condition worsened. She died while undergoing treatment.
Her family has been informed of the death. The body has been sent for autopsy before being handed over to the family members.
A case has been registered with police in this regard.
