Woman With 2-Yr-Old Son Jumps Into Bhargavi River In Pipili, Bodies Recovered

Bhubaneswar: A woman, along with her two-year-old son, allegedly committed suicide by jumping into the Bhargavi river near Jagannathpur village under Pipili police limits in Puri district on Wednesday.

The deceased woman has been identified as Ipsita Behera, though her two-year-old son’s identity has not yet been established.

According to reports, Ipsita jumped into the Bhargavi river with her son from the bridge near Jagannathpur Chowk in the afternoon. Locals on the bridge immediately alerted the Fire Service. After an extensive search, Fire Service personnel recovered the bodies from the Bhargavi river near Sunapada village.

The police have seized the bodies and sent them for post-mortem.
