Woman’s Half-Naked Body Recovered From Well In Dhenkanal; Husband Detained

Dhenkanal: Villagers in Balibo village under Bhuban police limits in Odisha’s Dhenkanal district recovered a half-naked body of a middle-aged woman from a well on Thursday morning.

The deceased woman has been identified as Basanti Raut (40).

According to reports, some village women who had gone to draw water from the well found Basanti’s body floating on the water. Subsequently, they informed the villagers, police and the Fire Services personnel about the incident. Fire Services personnel recovered Basanti’s body from the well.

The police have detained Basanti’s husband Pradhan and started an investigation into the case.

As of now, it is not known how Basanti fell into the well or if someone killed her and dumped the body into the well.

According to information, Basanti is the second wife of Pradhan.
