Bhubaneswar: On the eve of World Cancer Day on Thursday, an Awareness Marathon was flagged off on the premises of Apollo Hospitals, Bhubaneswar’s Cancer Centres Block jointly by Sridhar Patra, CMD, NALCO and Sudhir M Diggikar, Central Region CEO of Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Limited.

were present during the programme.
The 10 km long marathon went through major intersections of the city including Vani Vihar, Rupali Square, Ram Mandir square, Housing Board square and Acharya Vihar before culminating at our centre. The idea was to spread as much awareness as possible towards the dreaded disease and harping on the fact that early detection is the key.
Around 100 participants walked from Apollo Hospitals to create awareness on cancer prevention and sensitize people on the theme “Winning over Cancer Together”.
World Cancer Day is celebrated every year across the globe on 4th February. By observing this day as an important health day, Apollo Hospitals aims to save millions of preventable deaths each year by raising awareness and education about cancer.
