Dhenkanal: In a tragic incident, a young lover couple tried to end their lives by hanging from a tree in Govindpur village under Chanchali in Odisha’s Dhenkanal district.
Local villagers spotted the two bodies hanging from a tree on the outskirts of the village and informed the police about the incident. While the youth died on the spot, the young woman has been admitted to a local medical center in critical condition.
The deceased youth has been identified as Kanhu Charan Mohapatra of Gobindpur. According to reports, he was in love with the young woman. The reason why the couple took the extreme step is yet to be ascertained. However, the police suspect that they tried to end their lives following a failed love affair.
