Bhubaneswar: In a shocking incident, a young couple was found hanging from a tree in Kaliaposi village under Thakurmunda police station limits on Friday morning.
According to reports, local residents spotted the bodies while passing by the village outskirts early in the morning. A water bottle and a college bag were lying near the tree and the couple’s bodies were hanging from one of the branches. The villagers immediately informed the police.
According to preliminary information, the deceased were lovers. The girl belonged to Kaliaposi village, while the boy was from Sunaposi area under Karanjia police station. Police suspect that the couple took the extreme step due to issues related to their love affair.
Thakurmunda police along with fire service personnel reached the spot and began an investigation. The bodies were recovered and sent for post-mortem.
The exact cause of the incident is expected to become clear after the post-mortem report and further police investigation.
