Angul: An young elephant died during treatment at Kusakhali forest of Satkosia in Angul district on Tuesday.
The five-year-old elephant had been seen near Jagannathpur and later found sick in Hiladoli area of Pampas Forest.
On getting information from locals, the forest department had rescued it and had started its treatment yesterday.
Despite the efforts of veterinary officers, the pachyderm passed away this morning.
