Cuttack: In a shocking incident, the body of a young physiotherapist was recovered from behind his rented house in the Olatpur police station area of Cuttack district on Thursday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Ruhan Kakati, a native of Assam. Local residents spotted the body early in the morning and immediately informed the police. A team from Olatpur police station rushed to the scene, recovered the body, and launched a preliminary investigation. The exact cause of death is yet to be determined.
According to reports, Kakati had completed his physiotherapy studies at an educational institution in Assam before moving to Olatpur nearly four years ago to pursue an internship at the Swami Vivekanand National Institute of Rehabilitation Training and Research (SVNIRTAR). After completing his internship, he continued to reside in Olatpur in a rented accommodation in a two-storey house while practicing physiotherapy.
He was known to travel to Assam frequently whenever time permitted. Kakati had returned to Cuttack from Assam just a day before the incident and was reportedly accompanied by a friend.
Police officials said they are conducting a detailed investigation to ascertain the circumstances leading to his death. Further details are awaited.
