Balasore: A young woman was found hanging in a room of Laxminarayan Temple on National Highway No. 16 at Pathi Pentha under Bahanaga Block in Balasore.
The deceased has been identified as Susri Sangita (26), the younger daughter of Govind Chandra Malik.
According to reports, Sangita left her house on her scooter at 10 am today, saying she would go to Barikpur Haat. When she failed to return home, her family members repeatedly tried to contact her on her mobile phone but received no response.
Concerned for her safety, her family members went to search for her at Barikpur Haat and found her scooter parked in front of the Laxmi Narayan Temple. Upon entering the upper floor of the temple, they discovered her body hanging from a fan with a scarf tied around her neck.
The family immediately informed the police, who reached the spot and conducted an investigation. Based on the family’s complaint, they suspect foul play and have registered a case. A scientific team has been called in to conduct further investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding her death.
