Koraput: Jeypore Town police today arrested a youth for allegedly kidnapping and raping a minor girl student of Jeypore town.
The accused has been identified as 19-year-old Surendra Harijan of Hantalguda under Kundura police limits, police said.
Police have informed that Surendra was arrested from Hantalguda and forwarded to court.
According to the police, on December 5 Jeypore Town police received a complaint that a minor girl of Jeypore town studying in Class IX had been kidnapped.
On the basis of the complaint, police launched an investigation into the matter. During the course of its investigation, police rescued the minor girl and arrested accused Surendra from Hantalguda under Kundura police limits.
