Malkangiri: Acting on the orders of the Malkangiri District Collector and Excise Inspector Bimbadhar Panda, a mobile team of the Excise Department arrested a 21-year-old youth, a resident of MV 72 village, while he was dealing in marijuana on Sunday morning.
According to the reports, the mobile Excise Team stopped and checked a speeding car with an Andhra Pradesh number plate while patrolling near Gaurguda near Sadarmahkuma this morning. On inspection of the vehicle, the team found 88 kg of cannabis and seized the contraband. The Excise team also seized the car.
It has been learned that the accused young man, who was dealing in ganja, used to pack all the contraband inside the car seat and the desk board.
After the arrest of the accused, court proceedings have been initiated. It has been found that five people have been produced before the court after raids in various places.
