Bhubaneswar: A youth was detained by police on Tuesday for allegedly snatching cash from an elderly man outside an ATM near the Bhadrak SP’s office in Bhadrak district.
According to reports, the elderly man had just withdrawn money from the ATM when the accused approached and snatched the cash. The victim raised an alarm, prompting nearby passersby to chase the youth and hold him until the police arrived.
Police personnel stationed at the Bhadrak SP’s office intervened and took the accused into custody. The youth is currently being interrogated and further investigation is underway to determine if he is involved in similar cases in the area.
