Kendujhar: A youth reportedly died after being swept away by strong currents in Ankura nullah while fishing in the Patna area of Kendujhar district.
According to reports, the youth had gone to the Ankura nullah early in the morning to catch fish. The stream was flowing with high water levels and very strong currents at the time. Due to carelessness, he slipped into the water and was quickly swept away by the forceful flow.
Local residents immediately launched a search operation after he went missing, but could not find him initially. His body was spotted floating in another part of the nullah after some time.
Villagers promptly informed the police, who reached the spot and sent the body for post-mortem after recovering it.
Following the tragedy, locals have appealed to everyone to remain extremely cautious while going near rivers, streams, or water bodies during the rainy season.
