Rayagada: A youth was electrocuted after reportedly touching a high-tension overhead electrical wire at Jimidipeta Railway Station in Rayagada district.
Reportedly, the 12375 – Jasidih Weekly Superfast Express train was on the run when one guard found the youth climbing on top of it and immediately informed the loco pilot.
The loco pilot stopped the train at Jimidipeta Railway Station and asked the youth to get down of it. However, the youth touched the overhead wire and got electrocuted.
Following the incident, GRP and RPF personnel reached the railway station and sent the body to the District Headquarters Hospital, Rayagada, for post-mortem.
The identity of the deceased youth is yet to be ascertained.
