Bhubaneswar: An 18-year-old died due to electrocution while helping set up a wedding tent in Lalitpur village under Badagada police station limits in Ganjam district.
The deceased has been identified as Dinesh Nayak from Saranauti village.
The tragic incident occurred late on Thursday night. Dinesh and others were erecting a tent for a marriage function in Lalitpur village. While working, Dinesh suddenly lost his balance, slipped, and accidentally grabbed a nearby electricity pole to steady himself. He received a severe electric shock and collapsed on the spot. Local people immediately rushed him to the Badagada Community Health Centre in critical condition, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
Police have seized the body and initiated further investigation into the matter.
