Jharsuguda: A youth committed suicide by hanging himself and streamed it live on Facebook in Odisha’s Jharsuguda district late on Saturday night. The video of the incident has gone viral.
The deceased was identified as Atal Singh (24) a resident of Station Pada under Badamal police limits in the district. According to reports Atal was an employee of a cottage industry where he worked as a driver. He hanged himself from the ceiling of his room at around 12.35 am on Saturday while his friends watched the tragic incident live.
On Sunday morning, his family members informed the police who broke the door of Atal’s room and recovered the body for post-mortem.
The police have registered a case in connection with the incident and started a probe. However, the reason behind the extreme step by Singh is yet to be ascertained.
