Angul: A youth was tonsured, garlanded with shoes and abused over an incident of eve teasing. The youth along with two others was allegedly involved in an eve teasing incident a couple of days back.
The villagers laid a trap and nabbed the trio when they were passing lewd comments to a girl again on Friday. While two of them managed to flee, this boy was caught and tonsured by the infuriated public.
The matter was reported from Talcher’s Balugan village. Talcher Sadar police have detained three youths in this matter who were involved in eve teasing, on the basis of the complaint filed by the girl’s family.
Action will be initiated if the accused files a counter complaint against the villagers who abused him, the police said.
