Puri: A young man was apprehended by security personnel deployed at Puri Jagannath temple for taking photos and videos inside the temple using a hidden camera concealed in his spectacles.

The suspect, identified as Abhishit Kar from the Gajapati Nagar area, was caught near the temple’s Beherana Dwara when security personnel grew suspicious of his behaviour.

According to reports, Kar had fitted a lens into his spectacles, which allowed him to capture photos and videos that were directly transmitted to his mobile phone.

Meanwhile, the temple’s security personnel handed Kar over to the Singhadwar police station, where he is currently being interrogated.

The incident has raised concerns about the security measures in place at the temple.

Singhadwar police are investigating the motive behind Kar’s actions and whether he has any connections to any other individuals or groups. The case is currently under investigation.
