Bhubaneswar: A youth sustained bullet injuries in a firing incident that took place in the Balisahi area under Sadar Police Station in Kendrapara district on Sunday.
The victim has been identified as Gautam Mallick alias Babu, a resident of Bharigola village. He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment, where his condition is currently stable.
According to reports, Gautam was walking in the Balisahi area when three unidentified miscreants arrived on a scooter. The assailants fired at Gautam in broad daylight before fleeing the scene. Local residents quickly came to his aid and transported him to the hospital.
On receiving information about the incident, the Sadar Police arrived at the location and initiated an investigation. However, the motive behind the shooting remains unclear at this time.
