Bhadrak: A youth sustained injuries after he tried to intervene in a scuffle involving his friend at Charampa School Road under Bhadrak Town Model Police Station limits on Wednesday.
The injured has been identified as Kartik Chandra Padhi.
According to reports, Kartik and his friends were eating street food near Charampa School Road. As they were leaving, one of them started his electric vehicle, which made a vibration sound. A group of four to five men present nearby objected and one of them, identified as Shibu, allegedly hurled abuses at the rider.
When Kartik’s friend questioned the verbal abuse, an altercation broke out. Shibu reportedly attacked him with a knife. As Kartik tried to stop the fight, Shibu allegedly attempted to stab him in the neck, but the knife struck Kartik’s left hand instead.
Kartik was immediately rushed to the Bhadrak District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) by his friends for treatment.
Upon receiving information, police personnel from Bhadrak Town Model Police Station reached the spot and launched an investigation into the incident.
