Road Accident In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: A 21-year-old man was killed, while his friend sustained injuries after their scooter reportedly skidded and came under a truck near Rasulgarh in Bhubaneswar on Saturday evening.

The deceased was identified as Aditya Naulla (21), while the injured person, Dibyansh Chhalina (29), was admitted to Capital Hospital for treatment. Both are residents of Cuttack.

According to reports, the accident occurred at around 4 pm when the duo was travelling through the busy Rasulgarh area. A preliminary investigation suggests that their scooter lost balance and skidded on the road, throwing both riders off the vehicle. Moments later, a truck allegedly ran over them.

Local residents alerted the police, following which a patrol team rushed to the spot and launched rescue operations. Aditya succumbed to his injuries at the scene, while Dibyansh was shifted to Capital Hospital by ambulance.

The mishap led to traffic congestion on the stretch for some time. Police personnel regulated vehicular movement and cleared the backlog to restore normalcy.

Police have registered a case and launched an investigation to ascertain the exact circumstances that led to the accident.
