Youth Killed In Lightning Strike In Nuapada

Bhubaneswar:  A 30-year-old youth died today due to a lightning strike in Jhanjimunda village under Sadar police station in Nuapada district.

The deceased has been identified as Hemsingh Majhi. He was thirty years old.

Jhanjimunda received intermittent rain today in the afternoon. Hemsing went to his brick kiln before the rains started. He was covering the bricks with polythene sheet to protect the bricks from rain.

A lightning suddenly struck him killing him on the spot.

Sadar police station seized the dead body and sent it to Nuapada district headquarters hospital for autopsy.

On Monday,  a person was also killed due to lightning strike in Mayurbhanj district. Another youth also died in a similar incident in Balasore.
