Youth Lynched To Death Over Petty Issue In Puri

Bhubaneswar: In a gruesome incident, a youth was allegedly beaten to death by a group of family members over a trivial dispute at Tiarpari village under Brahmagiri police station in Puri district.

The deceased youth has been identified as Nakula Samal, a resident of Tiarpari village.

According to reports, the incident occurred on Tuesday night, when family members from the same village attacked Nakula with sticks and other sharp objects. The youth was reportedly tied to a coconut tree and lynched to death. The body was later dumped near the victim’s house.

Upon being informed, Brahmagiri police reached the spot and seized the body.

The victim’s mother, meanwhile, Bisika Samal, has filed a complaint alleging that her son was murdered and seeking action against the accused killers.

Terming it a pre-planned murder, investigating officials stated that the victim’s body bore injury marks in various places.
