Bhubaneswar: A 22-year-old youth went missing after jumping into the Luna River from a bridge late last night. Fire service personnel have launched a vigorous search operation using a speed boat.
According to reports, Rajkumar Jena, a resident of Bahakandia village under Kendrapada Sadar police station, had gone to the Kalapada Luna River bridge during the late hours of the night. For reasons still unknown, he jumped from the bridge into the river.
Upon receiving information about the incident, fire service personnel rushed to the spot and began a thorough search of the river with the help of a speed boat. However, no trace of Rajkumar has been found so far.
The search operation has proved challenging due to darkness and the strong current of the river last night. Despite these difficulties, the fire department continues its efforts to locate the missing youth. The exact reason why Rajkumar jumped into the river remains unclear.
Police have, meanwhile, also initiated an investigation to determine the circumstances of the incident.
