Sundergarh: A youth was allegedly killed over previous enmity in broad daylight in Sundargarh town. According to reports, a young man, identified as Babuli Kaka of Gandhipada, was attacked with a sharp weapon at Rani Bagicha near Biju Patnaik chhak under near the Sundargarh Town Police Station.
The victim, a sanitation supervisor in the municipality, was rushed to the nearby hospital in critical condition, where he was declared dead by the doctor.
The motive behind the murder is still unclear, but police have launched an investigation into the incident. Preliminary reports suggest that the killing may be linked to an ongoing conflict between two groups in the locality.
Eyewitnesses claim that five to six miscreants on three bikes attacked Babuli with sharp weapons at around 5:30 pm while he was distributing work. The assailants fled the scene immediately after the attack.
Police rescued Babuli and took him to the medical centre, but unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries. In a latest development, three miscreants have reportedly surrendered in connection with the incident. The Sundargarh town police are investigating the matter further to ascertain the circumstances leading to the murder.
