Cuttack: A youth was allegedly shot dead today afternoon by two of his acquaintances at Subhadrapur village under Cuttack Sadar police limits.
The deceased has been identified as Chintamani Sahu.
According to reports, the deceased Chintamani, a native of Banki area in Cuttack district was a mason and was staying in a rented house in Subhadrapur.
Two of his acquaintances Jagan Pradhan and Sambhua came to meet him at his house today afternoon.
According to Chintamani’s wife who was present in the house at the time of the incident, Sambhua handed over a gun to Jagan who shot at Chintamani’s head from point blank range killing him instantaneously.
Jagan and Sambhua fled the spot on a motorcycle after the incident.
Cuttack Sadar police on being informed has seized Chintamani’s body and sent it to SCB Medical College & Hospital for post-mortem.
Cuttack Sadar police station IIC Rashmi Ranjan Mohapatra has constituted a team to nab the culprits.
