Puri: A youth was stabbed by five miscreants at Danda Sahi under Chandanpur police limits of Puri district on Sunday night over filing of nomination papers for the upcoming panchayat polls in Odisha.
Reportedly, the victim identified as Bhimsen Pradhan of Danda Sahi was on his way to the village temple last night when he was intercepted by the miscreants.
They had an argument over the filing of nomination papers following which one of them attacked him with a sharp weapon. As Pradhan attempted to face his attacker, the other miscreants also stabbed him.
He was later rescued and admitted to the district headquarters hospital in Puri. Meanwhile, Chandanpur Police have initiated a probe into the matter.
