Khordha: In a gruesome incident, a young man was allegedly stabbed to death at Khudupur Chowk under Jatani police station limits in late last night.
The deceased has been identified as Markanda Baliarsingh (Jaga), a resident of Khudupur village.
According to preliminary information, Markanda was standing at the chowk when he was suddenly attacked by an unidentified assailant. He was repeatedly stabbed in the stomach and chest. After the assault, the attacker fled from the spot.
Upon being informed, Jatni police rushed to the crime scene and have detained one person for questioning. The police suspect that the murder was the result of previous enmity.
Further investigation is underway.
