Youth Trampled To Death By Elephant In Cuttack

Man Trampled To Death

Bhubaneswar: In a tragic incident, a youth was trampled to death by a wild elephant at Gahanda village under Choudwar police limits in Cuttack district on Wednesday.

The deceased has been identified as Maheswar Dehury, a resident of Gahanda village.

According to reports, Dehury had gone to the village pond on Wednesday morning when a wild elephant suddenly attacked him from behind. The youth sustained severe injuries in the attack.

Local residents immediately rushed him to a nearby medical facility; however, doctors declared him dead upon arrival.

The body was later sent to SCB Medical College and Hospital, Cuttack, for post-mortem.
