Bhubaneswar: A person was left critically injured late Friday night when a group of youths allegedly slit his throat with a knife at Khandara Square under Hinjilicut police station limits in Ganjam district.
According to reports, the victim, identified as Uddhab Padhi of Khandara village, was riding his motorcycle from the village towards Hinjilicut when the youths asked him for a lift. After he declined, they stopped him and attacked him with a knife.
Padhi suffered serious injuries and was first taken to Hinjilicut Sub-Divisional Hospital. As his condition worsened, he was referred to MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Brahmapur.
Upon bein informed, police visited the hospital, spoke with the victim’s family members and have launched an investigation into the assault.
