Bhubaneswar: International cricket is set to return to Odisha after a three-year hiatus, with the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack scheduled to host the opening T20 International of the India-South Africa series on December 9, 2025.
The fixture, confirmed by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Monday, marks a significant update to the revised home season calendar.
The day-night encounter, beginning at 7 pm, will be the first of a five-match T20I series, followed by games in New Chandigarh (Dec 11), Dharamsala (Dec 14), Lucknow (Dec 17), and Ahmedabad (Dec 19).
The BCCI’s revised schedule also includes venue changes for multiple fixtures across the men’s and women’s cricket calendar.
Notably, the women’s ODI series against Australia has been relocated from Chennai to New Chandigarh and Delhi due to renovation work at MA Chidambaram Stadium.
Additionally, the South Africa A one-dayers will now be held in Rajkot, while some Tests involving South Africa and the West Indies have also seen venue realignments.
