ENG V IND, 3rd T20I: India Make Four Changes As England Win Toss, Elect To Bat First

Nottingham:  England captain Jos Buttler has won the toss and elected to bat first against India in third T20I at Trent Bridge here on Sunday. India have already won the three-match T20I series with an unassailable 2-0 lead while England will be seeking a consolation victory.

After winning the toss, Buttler said, batter Phil Salt and left-arm pacer Reece Topley come into the playing eleven in place of leg-spinner Matthew Parkinson and left-arm pace all-rounder Sam Curran. He added that Salt will bat at number four to add some strength to the batting order.

“Just looking for a change-up, looks like a great wicket. We’ve been disappointed with the way we’ve batted, this is a chance to put it right. Hopefully a change in fortunes, with the sun out. There is still a lot of confidence in the side,” insisted Buttler.

India skipper Rohit Sharma said there are four changes from the playing eleven in Saturday’s 49-run win at Edgbaston on Saturday: – Ravi Bishnoi, Avesh Khan, Umran Malik and Shreyas Iyer come in place of Yuzvendra Chahal, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jasprit Bumrah and Hardik Pandya.

“Had batted first twice, wanted to chase at least once. We don’t want to miss out on the winning confidence, but there are a few things we want to have a look at before the World Cup, so the changes. We’re excited for Umran, want to wish him the best and give him confidence,” stated Sharma.
