New Delhi: India delivered an impressive performance at the Taipei Capital Cup 2026, with Team India securing two Silver Medals and three Merit Awards at the prestigious international skilling competition held in Taipei, Taiwan, from May 26 to 28, the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship said on Friday.

Competing against participants from 15 countries across Europe, Asia, the Americas and Oceania, the Indian contingent showcased strong technical expertise across multiple emerging skill categories.

The achievement has further strengthened India’s position as a growing global skills powerhouse and highlighted the country’s focus on developing industry-ready talent through its expanding skilling ecosystem, the ministry stated.

Representing India in five highly competitive categories, the participants demonstrated excellence in domains ranging from mobile application development and software applications to digital construction and automobile technology.

Muskan won a Silver Medal in Painting and Decorating, while Arjun Sumathi Vijayabashkar secured a Silver Medal in Mobile Applications Development.

India also earned three Merit Awards, with Mohamed Mafaz Poonaikannan Rabi Ahamed being recognised in Software Applications Development, Suresh Kumar Ganesan Meena in Digital Construction, and Md Seraj in Automobile Technology.

The Silver Medal winners received cash prizes of 8,000 Taiwan Dollars each, while the Merit Award recipients were awarded 5,000 Taiwan Dollars each.

Congratulating the winners, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and Minister of State for Education, Jayant Chaudhary, said Team India’s performance reflected the confidence, determination and capability of India’s youth.

He said the competition provided valuable exposure to international standards and would help prepare the competitors for larger global events, including WorldSkills Shanghai 2026.

“Every such achievement strengthens our resolve to build a globally competitive, future-ready workforce and advances our vision of Viksit Bharat powered by skilled and empowered youth,” he said.

Secretary, Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Debashree Mukherjee, also congratulated the competitors, experts and mentors, saying the success reflected the growing strength of India’s skilling ecosystem and the world-class potential of Indian youth.
